Schedule for Reunion Events

Tuesday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 14, 2005


Highlights: Chautauqua Institution and Jamestown in Western New York, with lodging at Webb’s Lake Resort, and Banquet at Webb’s Captain’s Table Restaurant in Mayville, NY, on Chautauqua Lake.


Tuesday, September 13:

 

2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.         Arrivals. Check in at Webb’s Resort.

7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.         Social and Mixer on Webb’s Restaurant Patio

                                              Cash Bar. Renew old (and new) friendships.

                                              Dinner on your own at your convenience and desire.


Wednesday, September 14:

 

 8:15 A.M.      Bus departs for day’s events. Bring your tote bags! A light continental breakfast (coffee and doughnuts) is provided at Webb’s, or full breakfast is available at the adjacent restaurant, Dick’s Harbor House, starting at 6:00 A.M.

 8:45 A.M.      Visit the new Chautauqua County Center for scenic overlook of Chautauqua Lake

 9:45 A.M.      Arrive at the Robert H. Jackson Center. Presentation and tour of the Supreme Court Judge’s memorial and educational legacy as a native son of the area.

11:00 A.M.    Tour of the Desilu Playhouse. This a different location than was originally listed.  Lucille Ball, the acknowledged “Queen of Comedy” is also a local celebrity, and is buried here in Jamestown.

12:30 P.M.    Buffet luncheon at historic Athenaeum Hotel on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution.

  1:30 P.M.     Presentation on the history of Chautauqua

  2:00 P.M.     Bus Tour of Chautauqua Institution

  3:15 P.M.     Bus leaves for optional field trips stops: Wine Tasting at local winery; and Antiquing at historic Westfield, NY, led by Jim Sweet

  3:35 P.M.     Stop at Webb’s Resort for drop off those persons not wishing to attend the optional stops

  3:45 P.M.     Wine Tasting or Antiquing

  4:30 P.M.     Bus returns to Mayville and Webb’s Resort

  5:00 P.M.     Free time and relaxation

  6:30 P.M.     Social Hour at Webb’s Captain’s Table (Cash Bar)

  7:30 P.M.     Banquet Dinner at Webb’s Captain’s Table

Program: A brief business portion will be conducted to present results of the recent Potter Club Alumni Survey, its implications and other Alumni issues that have emerged. A Special Event will follow up on this year’s reunion theme... “Public Service - A Legacy of All Pottermen.” Our featured speaker will be Judge Dan Joy, 1952.


Thursday, September 15:


Check out from Motel by 11:00 A.M. Breakfast arrangements are on your own, the same as Wednesday morning.
